Creamy definition for the natural lip contour. Start at the edge, keep the shape believable, then soften the pigment inward or build more color only where you want it.

01

Creamy, controlled edge definition.

02

Natural lip texture stays visible.

03

Trace the edge or blend farther inward.

HOW TO USE

Trace first. Fill second.

01

Find the edge

Start at the Cupid’s bow or another clear part of the natural lip border so you can follow the shape that is already there.

02

Trace with light pressure

Work toward the corners with short controlled movements. Keep the line close to the natural lip edge rather than drawing a larger new shape.

03

Soften or fill

Diffuse the liner slightly inward for a softer edge, or continue filling the lip when you want more visible color.

NEED TO KNOW

A few things before you trace.

Quick answers about lip shape, shade and technique.

Should I trace inside or outside my natural lip line?

For the most believable everyday result, stay close to your natural vermilion border and follow the lip shape you already have.

You do not need to create a larger new outline for the liner to add definition.

How do I keep lip liner from looking harsh?

Use light pressure and soften the pigment slightly inward after tracing the edge.

Keeping some natural lip texture visible helps the result feel integrated rather than drawn on.

Can I use the liner over my whole lip?

Yes. Start with the edge first, then continue filling farther inward when you want more visible pencil color.

You can also leave the center softer for a more diffused result.

How do I choose my shade?

Start with your natural lip tone and undertone, then decide how much contrast you want.

A closer match gives softer everyday definition, while a deeper, warmer or cooler shade creates a more visible edge. Use the shade and model references above as a visual guide.
